My followers are mostly in Colombia and other countries in Latin America, like México and Argentina. But since it’s in English, it also gets visitors from the UK, the US and even a few from Australia.
My blog is fairly new, and it still has a few blank spaces, so it was surprising to discover it has visitors from different countries, even if they were not a lot. It also said that the average pages per visit is 2.34, so I need to make my home page and headlines more appealing in order to get them to stay and browse for a little longer.
My social media, on the other hand, is not that big, although I do try to get a new post every now and then, curated pictures, funny captions, clever little tweets, and etcetera. But I am a very private person, and don’t actually feel the need to share as much, especially with strangers. Likes and shares only excite me when it comes to professional networking, that’s why most of the accounts I follow are businesses, in fashion, beauty or other industries.
I’m a professional journalist and started a blog because of my love for writing. Since the content I post on my blog is dense, text more than pictures and short sentences, (even though the tool I used didn’t exactly tell me their ages) I can only assume my audience is not that young, because the younger the generation, the more immediacy is demanded and expected.
The more time I spend on my blog, and selecting and writing the content on it, the better defined my audience will be, and it will be easier to target that audience by using social media platforms. So it’s all about patience and dedication.
